According to the Greenlane Hospital, New Zealand, during the seven-years working at that hospital as a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Chen performed more than 1700 cases of cardiac surgeries, over 250 per year. Among those, there were 1,200 cases of CABG and redo CABG with a mortality rate of 1.5%, four cases of double lung transplant, and twenty cases of heart transplant. All of his transplant patients recovered.

Academic Achievement
Dr. Chen has been dedicated to research, especially in myocardium protection, surgical treatment of heart tumor and endocarditis, as well as heat transplantation. From 1998-2005, Dr. Chen published 15 research papers on “American Cardiothoracic Surgery”, “Australia Heart Lung & Circulation”, and “ANZ Journal of Surgery”. He received an award from the Royal Australasian College of the Surgeon for his “Third-time Coronary Revascularisation: Results of Thirty-Five Consecutive Patients”.
