Professional Experience
Dr. Xiao-Jian Yie has more than 20 years of experience specializing in spine surgery. Dr. Yie graduated from the Second Military Medical College with M.D. and PhD. Due to his excellent scores on the national exams designed to select doctors to study abroad, he was given the scholarship from Chinese Ministry of Health and had opportunities to go to France, America, Canada, and Australia to receive his clinical training in spinal surgery. After he returned, he started many new procedures in this field in China. Up to date, he has performed more than 1000 complex spinal surgical cases, covering cervical spinal disease, lumbar spinal disease, disc herniation, congenital spinal deformity, vertebral deformity, spinal trauma, spinal tumor, and more. Dr. Yie is the first in China to perform minimally invasive spinal surgical procedures, such as laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, discoscopic spinal procedure to treat disc herniation, sciatica, vertebra deformity and more, and has achieved remarkable results. His surgical results not only advance in China, but also in the world. He has graduated more than 20 PhDs and clinical fellows from overseas in total.
Academic Achievement
Dr. Yie is the author of, “Focus: Spine Surgery”, co-author of “Current Spinal Surgery”, and ten other reference books in his field. He has also published 80 medical articles and obtained one patent. He is also chief editor of “the Journal of Spinal Surgery” and the “Chinese Journal of Orthopedics”.
