Professional Experience
Dr. Xiao-Hai Zhu graduated from the Second Military Medical University. He was a student of Dr. Qing-Lian He, the founder of sex reassignment surgery in China as well as the head of the department of plastic surgery at Changzheng Hospital. Dr. Zhu’s hard work and dedication plus his excellent scores on the exams of selection of doctors studying abroad led him to receive a scholarship from World Health Organization that supported his training at the University College London cosmetic surgery center in 2001. When he returned to China, he began using many new procedures, such as female-to-male transgender surgery including bilateral mastectomy, hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and genital reassignment. The surgery is usually done in two steps, and Dr. Zhu was the first to finish it all at once in the world. He also has considerable expertise in sexual organ reconstructions, ear reconstructions, breast enlargement, liposuction, deep fat compartment refill to make face more youthful, and many other plastic surgeries, such as eye lid surgery, nose reshaping. Dr. Zhu can also rejuvenate the face by face refilling, face lifting wrinkle removing, and more. He also provides upper and/or inferior maxillar plastic surgery. Dr. Zhu blends the latest in cosmetic surgery technique with true artistry providing patients with a unique and individualized design.
