Professional Experience

Dr. Wen-Hu Chen has 30 years of experience in thoracic surgery. He graduated from Shanghai First Medical College and started his thoracic surgical career at SCH in 1973. From 1985-1986, he traveled to the Chicago University Medical Center to receive specialty training for one year. Afterwards, in 1988 and 1996, he studied at the Tokyo Cancer Research Center in Japan.

During his thirty years of tenure, Dr. Chen has treated numerous patients covering almost every area of thoracic surgery from common diseases to the most complex ones. Dr. Chen specializes in extended lymph nodes resection to treat esophageal cancer combined with chemotherapy. He also has experience in, but not limited to, surgical treatment of the myasthenia gravis, minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, and the multi-disciplinary approach to treat esophageal cancer, lung cancer, and mediastinal cancer.
