The department of plastic and reconstruction surgery, at Changzheng Hospital, was founded fifty years ago by famous cosmetic surgery specialists Dr. Xue-Shu Gao and Dr. Qing-Lian He, well-known surgeons of organ reconstruction. The department is now famous for male and female sexual organ reconstruction, sex reassignment, and elephantiasis (also called “elephant leg”) treatment. The female-to-male sexual reassignment can be done all at once. They also provide burn trauma surgical repair, facial-maxillary reconstruction, scar deformities repair, ear reconstruction, breast enlargement, facial plastic surgeries, and more. They have a research fund worth over one million dollars and have published 22 reference books and 170 articles in this field. |
